Connie Mackie, Dream Dogs owner and founder
Connie Mackie, owner and founder of Dream Dogs Training Company, has been formally training dogs since 1999 but has been "informally" training dogs since the age of eight. She was born and raised in the Los Angeles area and resides there still. Her passion and love for all creatures, especially dogs, started when she was a small child and her life has almost always had one or more dogs in it at a time. After successfully working corporate jobs for many years, but, finding no personal satisfaction in the corporate ladder, she decided that working with dogs was the way to enjoy life, put "kibble" on the table and make a decent income. She says it was the best decision of her life!
Connie was educated, trained and apprenticed with a nationally recognized dog trainer in his proven methods of dog training and behavioral problem solving. At any given time she holds a roster of about 75 dogs and puppies in training.
In September 2005 she assisted in the rescue and rehabilitation of hundreds of family pets left behind in their New Orleans homes from the devastation and flooding of Hurricane Katrina. "It was one of the best, most bitter-sweet experiences of my life. The initial agony on the animals faces so quickly turned to hope when they saw that we were there to help them through this uncertain time."
