“I'm not sure who likes Connie more, me or my dog! Training was effective and fun from start to finish. My wild pup is now a true gentleman thanks to Connie's great technique.”

Some Tips for you, the Conscientious Dog Owner

1. Is your dog a bit too pudgy? If you can't feel your dog's ribs and his belly is protruding underneath, it's probably time to start a diet. Dogs should have a clearly defined abdomen that's tucked up higher than the rib cage. When standing over your dog and looking down at his back, you should see a definite "waistline".

2. Don't wait for a scheduled vet appointment. Regularly check your dog at home to identify potential health problems.

3. Until your puppy is completely vaccinated, avoid dog parks and other public places where he could come in contact with other dogs who may not be protected against disease. Have him socialize with dogs you know have had their vaccinations. You may carry him when in public places.

4. Dogs can only cool themselves by panting, they bring in cooler air through their noses and exhale or pant. They do not sweat like humans to cool down. Dogs do however "sweat" from the pads of their feet when feeling overheated or stressed. If you notice, on hot days, that they are leaving little footprints when they walk, they are overheated and immediate action by you is necessary to get them cooled down. To cool them down quickly use cool not cold water from the shower or hose.
